English as a Second Language (ESL) for
Home Child Care Providers
ESL for Home Child Care is a 13-week program that meets Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers the possibility of earning certification in child care subject areas. Participants learn about child development, teaching/management strategies, and are assisted with the process of applying for a CT home daycare license. They develop a collection of activities, games, songs, and routines they can use to support children's literacy and healthy development, plus learn about setting up a business plan.
This program is sponsored by Vernon Regional Adult Based Education in partnership with the Connecticut Puerto Rican Forum, Inc., and is part of the Adult Literacy Project funded by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
